CAI-Industry AI Innovation Partnership Program (CAI2P)

The CAI-Industry AI Innovation Partnership Program (CAI2P) is a unique, collaborative initiative designed to bridge the gap between industry and academia in the field of AI. Spanning a duration of 6 – 12 months, this program brings together teams from the Center for Augmenting Intelligence (CAI) and partnering industries to conceive, design, develop, implement, and evaluate AI solutions tailored for specific Healthcare challenges.

The program begins with an ideation phase (Design Challenge), where teams identify critical business problems and conceptualize AI-driven solutions using a variety of AI platforms and solutions. Teams are formed by pairing industry professionals with CAI’s leading researchers, faculty fellows, and selected students from the Augmented Intelligence Scholars Program (AISP).

Following the ideation phase, the design and development stages take place over a 3-month period. Leveraging the latest AI technologies and methodologies, the teams co-create and refine AI models, solutions, or applications to address the identified challenges.

The next phase involves the implementation of these AI solutions in the workplace. Teams collaborate closely to ensure that the solutions are integrated smoothly into the existing infrastructure and processes, facilitating a seamless transition.

The final phase consists of an evaluation period, where the impact of the AI solution is thoroughly assessed. Key performance metrics are tracked to measure effectiveness and return on investment, and teams work together to make necessary adjustments based on these insights.

The CAI2P program provides a unique opportunity for real-world application of AI research, fostering an environment of learning and innovation. It also helps establish long-term partnerships between CAI and the industry, contributing to the shared goal of harnessing AI for societal good and responsible use.
